Hardware Security Engineer

Job Description:

Key tasks include:

o       Develop and or review software and services from a security perspective and be able to recognize subtle security issues. 

o       Identify security vulnerabilities and risks and develop mitigation strategies

o       Architect, design, implement, and support security focused tools and services including project leadership roles

o       Evaluate new and emerging security products and technologies

o       Develop tools to automate security testing procedures

o       Plan, organize, and document security audits, risk analysis, application level vulnerability testing and security code reviews.    

Education and Experience: 

o       BS or higher in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering with digital focus.  

o       5+ years experience in application-level vulnerability testing and code-level security auditing

o       Strong experience and detailed technical knowledge in security engineering, system and network security, authentication and security protocols and applied cryptography

o       Must have experience with hardware hacking tools (logic analyzer, oscilloscope, device programmer)

o       Experience with hardware emulators (American Arium, ECM-50)

o       Proficient at reading hardware schematics

o       Detailed knowledge of hardware-level security vulnerabilities and remediation techniques, including penetration testing and the development of exploits

o       Experienced with x86 assembly language

o       Experienced with reverse engineering tools (e.g. OllyDbg, SoftICE, IDAPRO, etc.)

o       Substantial development experience in C, C++

o       Strong scripting skills (e.g. PERL, shell scripting)

o       Knowledge of network and web related protocols (e.g. TCP/IP, UDP, IPSEC, HTTP, HTTPS, routing protocols)

o       Strong written and verbal communication skills
